Hi! My name is Harley Thornton and I live on a 160 acres with my mom in Eastern New Mexico. Our humble abode is in the middle of nowhere but we love it for the peace and quiet it brings. Any landscape pictures you see on this site are pictures of our beautiful view.
We have quarter horses; they can do ranch work, trail riding, and pleasure riding. Also, we have dogs: a couple Labs, a couple Aussies, and a German Shorthair Pointer. The animals keep us busy, but happy in only the way animals can do.
A little background on me: I worked in a saddle shop in Washington for 3 years, where I learned how to do saddle and leather repair. I have had horses since middle school and dogs all my life. I am just a country girl who loves her family, animals, friends and living a good life in the middle of nowhere America.
ABOUT MY BLOG
My blog is a place to find how to do some of our DIY projects, ranch projects, saddle and leather repair, fun animal posts, and anything else I learned that living in the country has taught me. The best thing about the projects we do is about 90% of everything can be done with 1-2 people.
As you’ll see from the variety of my posts, you have to be a jack of all trades and a bit of a McGuyver in order to get things done, especially when the nearest store is almost an hour away. Plus, I’m always researching to find the best way to do something so I have the knowledge to get the project done and hopefully not spend a ton of money while doing it.
I hope you find my blog as a place you can find the know how you need to get stuff done and have a little fun along the way. Please, if you have any ideas, comments, or knowledge for my blog, just send them my way.
